you do so on their terms. Simply put and simply thought. The philosophy of our guesthouse consistently follows the Moormann rule. Omit everything that isn’t necessary. No luxury, no gourmet cuisine, no total peace, no 150 television programmes, not even a TV. And the Wi-Fi even takes a break every now and then. A little bit peculiar, just like the mountains. But new perspectives will open up for you, among all the rough edges.
Following the laws of simplicity, everything in berge guesthouse is set-up to ensure that you can cope perfectly on your own. Nevertheless should you have any questions, our reception team is available every day from 8 until 12pm. Check-in at berge is from 3 p.m. onwards. Check-out is 11 p.m. at the latest. We issue our guests with a personal key code when they receive their booking confirmation to ensure that they can arrive whenever it suits. This code opens a small compartment beside the front door, in which the apartment key is deposited. The key fits the front door to the main house as well as the respective apartment. You can also unlock the depot in the garden to stow your bicycles or skis.
There is no restaurant in berge, but there is a small, elegant kitchen in almost every apartment that entices to cook yourself. So you can award yourself a few stars. We even bring the fresh ingredients for breakfast up to your room door on request. Bergebude and Vorderstübchen don’t have a kitchen, a good excuse to try out the local cafes. We organise catering and culinary events for conferences and festivities. The prepared meals are made almost exclusively from regional, seasonal sources. Or, as far as the herbs are concerned, directly from the berge herb garden.
We don’t rely solely on the summer and winter breeze to keep the apartments spick and span. They are cleaned before you arrive and after you depart. In the case of longer stays of one week and more, an additional clean can be organised. This service is included in the price. Towels, bed linen and dressing gowns are provided and look forward to their time together with you.
In berge guesthouse there’s neither a television nor a phone and the mobile reception isn’t the best. But in every apartment you’ll find a small, select library with classics and favourite novels. And the Literatenkammerl – the readers’ room – offers all sorts of stories to discover and lose yourself in your imagination. And for those, who don’t want to completely cut themselves off from the world, good news: Wi-Fi is now available for our digital globetrotters in all quarters. Each to his own, the hermit’s best friend is, after all, himself.
If you don’t feel the need to conquer the summit and would rather let your thoughts wander, you can simply visit the sundeck or cottage garden. If all the chairs have already been taken, don’t feel forced to play musical chairs. In the store behind the sundeck there are lots more. Your room key opens the door. The hotter the better? Our sauna is hidden in a little house in the middle of the Upper Bavarian garden. If you like boules, you can find the boules and rules for the game in the boule pavilion.
There is a busy road on this side of berge guesthouse. But the thick stonework keeps the noise out. Those, who decide to wander along the street or off the beaten track, are always on the right path, as there is lots to discover. Hills or mountain tops, bikes or skis, cable car or fixed rope routes, Chiemsee or open-air swimming pool, there’s a world of far-sighted and profound adventures waiting for you around the guesthouse. We can help you along the way with countless ideas and suggestions.
